LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) - A Lake Havasu City man is accused of deliberately crashing into his girlfriend’s car on a highway and then trying to strangle her.

Lake Havasu City police say 22-year-old Ryan Lamprecht is being held on suspicion of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and driving under the influence of alcohol.

They say officers were dispatched to an injury accident on Highway 95 about 1:30 a.m. Friday.

Police investigators say Lamprecht and the 30-year-old woman were involved in a domestic dispute before the collision.

They say evidence at the scene suggests Lamprecht intentionally collided with the woman’s vehicle, then exited his car and allegedly choked her.

Both were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say Lamprecht was arrested upon his release. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer yet.
