CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - The New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute is hosting a conference about what it takes to make ends meet in the state.

The conference - scheduled to take place Friday - plans to look at elements of a broader strategy for easing the difficulties facing working families.

The event in Concord will look at basic family budgets, examine the high costs of housing, child care and health care and explore policy changes to make them more affordable.

It will include a discussion of Medicaid expansion and the importance of its reauthorization to health and economic security.

The institute is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to exploring, developing and promoting public policies that foster economic opportunity and prosperity in New Hampshire.
