PORTAGE, Wis. (AP) - A man accused of fatally shooting his wife in a Portage hotel parking lot is being held on $1 million bond.

Charges against 51-year-old Kevin Krueger of Friesland (FREES’-land) include first-degree intentional homicide. He appeared for a bond hearing Thursday via video from the Columbia County Jail. It wasn’t immediately clear if he has an attorney.

Krueger was arrested Monday morning, shortly after his wife was found shot in the parking lot at Ridge Motor Inn. The Portage Daily Register (https://bit.ly/1UbRr1K ) reports a divorce hearing for the two had been scheduled for Thursday.

Kruger’s next court appearance is scheduled for April 21.
