PHOENIX (AP) - Maricopa County health officials have confirmed the first influenza-related pediatric death of the 2015-2016 flu season.
The name of the school-aged girl isn’t being released.
County health officials said Friday that the girl was diagnosed with the H1N1 strain of influenza A and she wasn’t vaccinated.
Health officials have already said the flu is considered widespread in Arizona.
Las year, one child died of the flu in Maricopa County.
