Northern New England is going to be getting some light snow - and some rain.

The National Weather Service says light snow will begin Friday night across parts of Maine and New Hampshire before turning to rain in most places on Saturday.

Meteorologist Tom Hawley says it won’t be a big snow maker. He says the coast may get an inch or so of snow. He says the mountains could see up to 3 inches.

Looking ahead, Hawley said forecasters are keeping their eye on a storm that’s forming offshore. He says it brings the possibility of more snow in the middle of the coming week.
