SHANDAKEN, N.Y. (AP) - Opponents of a planned $365 million Catskill Mountains resort have expanded their legal battle.

The Catskill Heritage Alliance says it filed another lawsuit last week related to the Belleayre Resort at Catskill Park, this time against the developer and the Town of Shandaken Planning Board. The board last month issued a special use permit for the large resort planned near the state-run Belleayre Mountain Ski Center.

The group in November sued the state Department of Environmental Conservation, which ordered state permits to be issued for the project last summer.

Opponents say the development would carve up pristine woods and clog mountain roads.

Supporters say it will mean more jobs for the Catskills.
