AUSTIN, Pa. (AP) - A man has been jailed in a crash that killed his two passengers and injured another driver in north-central Pennsylvania.

Thirty-one-year-old Derrick Gleason, of Coudersport, faces a preliminary hearing on two counts of vehicular homicide, three counts of aggravated assault by vehicle and other charges in the Sept. 18 crash.

That’s when state police say Gleason was speeding on Route 872 in Wharton Township, Potter County. Police say Gleason lost control of his vehicle on a curve and hit a Jeep driven by 37-year-old Steven Wimer, of Lancaster.

Wimer was seriously injured and two passengers in Gleason’s car were killed. They were 31-year-old Collene Marie Ackley, of Coudersport, and 34-year-old Jessica Lynn McKay of Port Allegany.

Gleason has been jailed since his arraignment Wednesday and doesn’t have an attorney listed in court records.
