SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - The University of Scranton has suspended its men’s and women’s swimming programs amid a hazing investigation.

College spokesman Stan Zygmunt says the school is looking into allegations that members of the teams violated the school’s sexual misconduct, sexual harassment and alcohol policies.

He tells The Times-Tribune that the policies define expectations at the Catholic institution and “the university takes allegations related to them very seriously.”

Zygmunt wouldn’t give additional details on the alleged violations.

Scranton Police Chief Carl Graziano says the city police department hasn’t received a complaint to investigate.

Lackawanna County District Attorney Shane Scanlon says he’s unaware of any related matter being referred to his office.
