OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Wildfires are being reported across Oklahoma as unseasonably warm temperatures, low humidity and gusty winds create ideal conditions for grass fires.

The National Weather Service says weather conditions on Friday will create near-critical fire weather conditions for parts of northwestern, central and southern Oklahoma. Officials discouraged Oklahomans from outdoor burning and other activities that could spark a fire.

The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management says numerous fires have been reported across the state. Officials say several local fire departments have committed their resources to fighting the wildfires.

On Thursday, Oklahoma Forestry Services committed firefighting resources to wildfires in northeastern and east-central Oklahoma. Among the resources were two Oklahoma Army National Guard UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters, two National Guard CH-47 Chinook helicopters as well as several air tankers and other firefighting equipment.
