SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Two men have been sentenced to life in prison without parole for their roles in the fatal shooting of a man standing on the porch of a Springfield home in 2013.

Julio Leiva, of Framingham, and Amadi Sosa, of Springfield, were sentenced Tuesday in Hampden Superior Court following their conviction on first-degree murder charges Friday in the November 2013 death of William Serrano.

Serrano was shot seven times by Leiva while sitting on the back porch of his girlfriend’s sister’s house.

Authorities say Serrano was dating Leiva’s former girlfriend.

Sosa was with Leiva at the time and stole the victim’s cellphone.

Leiva was not arrested until nearly a year later when he was tracked down in Tijuana, Mexico.
