CONCORD, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say seven people were injured in a crash in suburban San Francisco when a car with a gunman inside sped through an intersection and collided with four vehicles.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports (https://sfg.ly/1Q9J15g ) Tuesday that the California Highway Patrol says the incident began around 3 p.m. Monday on westbound Highway 4 near Willow Pass Road.

No gun shot injuries were reported.

The incident started when an off-duty transit police officer noticed a man in a car shooting at an unknown target and called police.

The car sped away and collided with four vehicles while speeding through the intersection at the base of the off-ramp. Seven crash victims, including the three men in the fleeing car, suffered minor to moderate injuries. A gun was found and the three men were arrested.
