PHOENIX (AP) - Governor Doug Ducey’s pick for the Arizona Game and Fish Commission has been confirmed by the state Senate.

Eric Slocum Sparks will be the newest member to serve on the five-member panel. His appointment for a five-year term was confirmed by the Senate last week.

The commission sets policy for the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

State officials say Sparks is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and has been a Tucson attorney since 1987.

He’s also a former vice chairman of the legal committee for Safari Club International. The group promotes big-game hunting worldwide.
