BOSTON (AP) - A Massachusetts judge has issued a sharp rebuke to the state attorney general’s office for trying to stymie a lawsuit filed by the parents of children allegedly molested at a day care center.

The attorney general’s office was arguing on behalf of administrators at Bridgewater State University, who are trying to block the release of some records requested by lawyers for the parents of alleged victims.

A former student faces child rape charges for allegedly molesting children ages 4 and 5 at the campus day care.

In his decision that denied the state’s motion to dismiss the suit, Judge Dennis Curran said the families have been traumatized twice, once by the former student, and by certain university administrators “who appear more concerned with protecting their own employees,” than getting to the truth.
