NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma’s Buddy Hield is one of 10 players named to the final watch list for the 2016 Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award.

The list was announced Tuesday by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The award is named after Hall-of-Famer Jerry West, who was an All-American at West Virginia before playing 14 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Hield is averaging 26.2 points per game this season. He has had 12 games of 25 or more points and eight games of 30 or more points.

Five finalists for the award will be presented in March to West and a selection committee and the winner will be announced on April 8.
