WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Wilmington Police say a woman was struck by two cars when she tried to cross the street.

It happened about 6:10 p.m. Monday at East 4th and North Walnut streets, the department said in a news release.

Officers say the woman was in a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a car. Police say a second car drove around the first vehicle and hit the woman in the road. The drivers of both cars stayed at the scene.

Police say the woman is in critical condition at Christiana Hospital.

The crashes are under investigation.
