POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) - A punctured train engine leaked 3,500 gallons of diesel fuel at an Idaho rail yard before emergency crews could contain the leak.

The Idaho State Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1TApwIv ) that the Union Pacific locomotive was punctured in a minor derailment in Pocatello late Saturday. None of the spilled fuel ignited, but it did need to be cleaned by a hazardous material team.

The Pocatello Fire Department said in a press release Monday that federal, state and local authorities were notified about the spill. Union Pacific agreed to clean up the fuel.

The fire department says no one was hurt in the derailment.
