A prosecutor says the son of a former aide to New York Mayor Bill de Blasio’s wife knew the man he is charged with fatally stabbing and that both were drug dealers.

Nineteen-year-old Khari Noerdlinger, of Edgewater, New Jersey, pleaded not guilty to aggravated manslaughter and other charges Tuesday.

His bail has been set at $500,000 and attorney Jeffrey Lichtman says he hopes to have him released from jail soon.

Authorities say the teen Noerdlinger stabbed went to Edgewater on Sunday with four New York accomplices to rob him. They say the accomplices were arrested on robbery charges.

Noerdlinger’s mother, Rachel Noerdlinger, resigned in 2014 after a string of damaging disclosures about her personal life, including Khari’s arrest on misdemeanor trespassing charges.
