NEW YORK (AP) - A clothing designer says a garment salesman accused in three shopkeepers’ deaths was carrying a black duffel bag when he smiled and waved through her window just hours before the final killing in November 2012.

Gail Lynch testified Monday that Salvatore Perrone also was carrying the bag when he returned and came into her store an hour later. Under defense questioning, she said she did not see the bag’s contents.

The New York Post (https://nyp.st/1UFrlSX ) says items introduced into evidence include five screwdrivers, two switchblades, a bloody 8-inch knife, three blouses, shredded stockings and a loaded, sawed-off rifle.

A police detective testified that the bag also contained latex gloves, wire cutters, pliers, bleach and a bloody handkerchief.

All three men were shot. One also had his throat slit.
