NORTON, Mass. (AP) - A Rhode Island man wanted by police in connection with a robbery at a convenience store has been arrested in Massachusetts.

Norton police say they were notified Friday that 28-year-old John Coutu, of South Kingstown, Rhode Island, might be at a residence in Norton.

Coutu is wanted for the armed robbery of a Cumberland Farms in Charlestown, Rhode Island.

Police monitored the Norton residence and saw Coutu walking in the area around 4:45 p.m. Friday.

Coutu was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice.

He’s scheduled to appear Monday in Attleboro District Court.

It’s unclear whether Coutu is represented by an attorney who could comment on the charges.
