TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Tucson say an impaired motorcyclist hit a vehicle, killing his female passenger.

Authorities say the accident happened Friday around 6:10 p.m. on Santa Clara Avenue near Calle Aragon.

According to investigators, a pickup truck had slowed to make a turn when it was struck from behind by a motorcycle.

The impact caused the truck to roll over and threw Rene Abeyta and Ana Lisa Ordonez, both of Tucson, from the motorcycle.

Police say neither was wearing a helmet.

They say the 36-year-old Ordonez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Abeyta and the driver of the truck were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say Abeyta showed signs of impairment.

The 36-year-old has been booked on manslaughter and two counts of aggravated assault with serious physical injury.
