NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - Police say a woman who was working at an unlicensed North Las Vegas daycare service is accused of throwing an infant, causing him brain damage.

Authorities said Friday that 36-year-old Alejandra Robles has been booked at Las Vegas City Detention Center on one count of child abuse with substantial bodily harm.

According to investigators, the incident happened last November.

Officers were called about a 7-month-old boy who was unresponsive and had difficulty breathing.

The baby was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition.

Police arrested Robles on Wednesday.

She told police during an interview that she intentionally threw the child.

Police say she was working as a caregiver at a daycare facility that has no license.

It was not known Saturday if Robles had retained an attorney.
