MEDFORD, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a Long Island woman has been arrested for leaving the scene of a crash that killed one person and injured three others.

The accident happened at around 8:20 p.m. Friday in Medford.

Suffolk County police say 61-year-old Kathy Horan was driving east on Granny Road when she hit a group of people who had pulled over.

Police say 28-year-old Peter Quoma had gotten out of his car when he was struck and killed by Horan’s vehicle.

They say two passengers who had remained in Quoma’s car and a woman standing near another parked car were injured. All were taken to hospitals.

Horan was arrested on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident without reporting a fatality.

No information on an attorney for Horan was available.
