COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - SATURDAY FEBRUARY 20

Drones, plastic building blocks and bottle rockets are among the enticing items being used to get children interested in engineering and computing at the University of South Carolina.

Saturday’s open house at the College of Engineering and Computing is welcoming students from elementary through high school for a career day.

Tours of the school’s labs and information about studying engineering and computing will be available for students and their parents.

The event is free and takes place from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at 300 Main St. on campus.
