MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources will host a meeting about the state’s pollinators, called “Beetles, Bees and Butterflies.”

The meeting is planned for March 17 at the Echo Aquarium and Science Center on the Burlington waterfront.

Speakers at the meeting will be talking about threats to pollinators and their roles in preserving Vermont’s working lands and wild places.

Among the topics that will be discussed are the importance of pollinators and their importance to crops, wild plants and people. In addition, experts will discuss the status of the state’s pollinators and the best ways to protect them.
