PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Christian Sengfelder had 16 points and eight rebounds, Joseph Chartouny made a go-ahead layup with two minutes left and Fordham pulled away down the stretch for a 56-53 victory over La Salle Wednesday night.

La Salle only had 12 points through the first 14-plus minutes of the second half but Cleon Roberts’ 3-pointer with 5:12 remaining pulled the Explorers to 46-42. Johnnie Shuler made another 3 to get to 47-45 and Jordan Price sank their third-straight 3 to take a 48-47 lead - its first since 29-28.

David Pekarek made a 3-pointer with 38 seconds left to extend Fordham’s lead to 54-50. After Chartouny hit 1 of 2 free throws with 10 seconds left to give the Rams a three-point lead, La Salle air-balled an open 3-pointer from the corner and Fordham (14-12, 5-10 Atlantic 10) ran out the clock.

Price and Cleon Roberts each had 13 points for La Salle (6-20, 2-13).
