MILWAUKEE (AP) - Authorities say a second person has died after a car smashed into the rear of a parked school bus in Milwaukee.

Thirty-six-year-old Lasando Rhodes of Milwaukee was driving the car that hit the bus about 7:45 a.m. Friday. Good Samaritans pulled Rhodes from the burning vehicle, and he was taken to Froedtert Hospital, where the Milwaukee County medical examiner’s office says he died Saturday.

The Journal Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1S8XfsA ) reports a passenger in the car, 40-year-old Prentiss Rhodes, was killed at the scene. The medical examiner’s report does not indicate his relationship to the driver.

Witnesses say the Ford Taurus was speeding through traffic when it hit the bus. There were no children on the bus, but the driver sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.
