IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) - An Idaho doctor charged in his wife’s beating is expected to plead guilty to a count of domestic battery and a misdemeanor charge of false imprisonment.

The Post Register reports (https://bit.ly/1QmLp9B) 60-year-old Michael Larson is suspected of punching, biting and kicking his 42-year-old wife on Nov. 27. The plea deal drops four of the five original counts and recommends a jail sentence of 60 days as well as two years of probation.

Officers responding to the attack at a remote cabin had to ram a locked gate to gain access.

Court records say the woman told officers that Larson had been drinking and bit her nose and slammed her head on the ground. She was treated at a hospital.

Divorce proceedings will determine whether Larson can visit his two children.
