LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Electric bills of 700,000 Entergy Arkansas customers will be going up slightly in April.

The requested rate increase settled Friday raises residential customer bills by 8.2 percent. That means a current $100 monthly electric bill would rise to $108.20.

But the utility will file its annual “fuel and purchased power cost” adjustment next month, which is expected to lower monthly residential bills by about 7 percent.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (bit.ly/1QDQiu3) the combination of the two rate adjustments will create a 1.2 percent rate increase.

So a customer with a $100 electric bill should see a bill of about $101.20 for April.
