NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Authorities say a Hartford man has been sentenced to prison for gang-related narcotics trafficking.

U.S. Attorney Deirdre Daly says 26-year-old Tafarie Green was sentenced on Friday to five years in prison followed by four years of probation.

Prosecutors say Green was arrested in April 2014 after a yearlong investigation led by the FBI into narcotics trafficking by members and associates of West Hell street gang. The investigation found that Green and other gang members were distributing crack cocaine in the Westland Street area of Hartford.

Green pleaded guilty in April 2015 to one count of conspiracy to distribute 28 grams or more of cocaine base, also known as crack.

Twenty-five people were charged as a result of the investigation.
