NORTON, Mass. (AP) - Massachusetts State Police say one person was killed and two were injured in a head-on collision on Interstate 495 in Norton.

Police say a pickup truck was heading north on the interstate Saturday evening when it went off the road, crossed the median and hit a car in the southbound center lane of the interstate.

Police say the car driver was killed and a passenger was injured. The passenger was taken to a Rhode Island hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The pickup driver, a 41-year-old man from Mashpee, also was injured. Police say he was taken to the hospital, and his injuries were non-life-threatening.
