YUMA, Ariz. (AP) - A Yuma is dead after he allegedly forced his way into an apartment and was shot.

Yuma police say the incident happened Friday around 8:15 p.m.

According to investigators, 48-year-old Thomas Selitto knocked on an apartment door and forced his way inside after the resident opened it.

Police say a physical altercation ensued.

The resident told Selitto to leave.

Selitto, in turn, made threats and advanced toward the resident.

Police say that is when the resident shot Selitto, who died from his wounds.

The incident remains under investigation.

Police did not say if the resident of the apartment will face charges.
