OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Keaton Thompson scored his first goal since opening night as North Dakota beat Nebraska-Omaha 4-1 on Saturday for the team’s sixth sweep of the season.

The fourth-ranked Fighting Hawks (26-5-3, 17-4-1-1) extended their winning streak to four games. They beat the Mavericks 4-2 on Friday.

The win, combined with Minnesota Duluth’s sweep of St. Cloud State, clinched for UND at least a share of the Penrose Cup, given annually to the regular season champion in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.

UND has four more series sweeps at home. It closes out the regular season next weekend at home against Western Michigan.

Bryn Chyzyk and Drake Caggiula added a goal and an assist apiece, and Brock Boeser added a goal for North Dakota.

Hawks’ goalie Cam Johnson made 25 saves. North Dakota outshot the Mavericks 37-27. UNO (18-13-1, 8-13-1-0) has lost four straight games, all at home.

Alex Weninger made 33 stops for the Mavericks.
