STORRS, Conn. (AP) - Academy Award-winning director Oliver Stone and television journalist Charles Osgood will be among the commencement speakers this year at the University of Connecticut.

Both Stone and Osgood will receive honorary doctorates.

Osgood, the host of CBS Sunday Morning, will receive an honorary doctorate of humane letters and will speak at the UConn Health graduation on May 9.

Stone, whose movies include “Platoon,” ”JFK” and “Natural Born Killers,” will receive an honorary doctorate of fine arts and speak at the UConn graduate school commencement on May 7.

Other honorary degrees will be awarded to award-winning literary translator Peter Constantine, New York Life President John Kim, National Science Foundation Director France Cordova and federal appeals court Judge Christopher Droney.
