HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Kourtlin Jackson made his final home game count, hitting five 3-pointers and pouring in 27 points to help Southern Mississippi snap a seven-game losing streak by beating North Texas, 81-70 Saturday night.

The graduate transfer from Iowa State entered the game after scoring a career-high 31 points against Rice. Jackson leads Southern Miss in scoring average at 13 points per game and in rebounds per game at 4.6

The Golden Eagles (8-19, 5-11 Conference-USA) led by five at intermission and pulled away steadily in the second half.

Jackson was 6 of 13 from the floor, including 5 of 9 from three-point range. Michael O’Donnell had 16 points Khari Price collected eight assists and six steals and leads the team with 123 assists.

Ja’Michael Brown and Jeremy Combs led North Texas (11-18, 6-10), scoring 15 points apiece. J’Mychal Reece and Carrington Ward added 13 points apiece.
