NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Brandon Sherrod and Makai Mason each scored 16 points and Yale defeated feisty Dartmouth 76-71 in overtime Saturday night.

Yale (20-6, 11-1 Ivy League) took the lead for good when Sherrod made two free throws with 3:39 left in overtime to make it 65-63. Justin Sears made two free throws, Mason sank 1 of 2 and Sherrod hit a layup before Dartmouth even scored in the extra session.

Cameron Smith’s layup with 1:56 left were the Big Green’s first points in overtime. Dartmouth shot 4 for 10 from the field extra period.

Sears’ dunk made it 72-67 with 44 seconds left.

Mason hit a jumper with five seconds remaining in regulation to tie it at 63-all.

Taylor Johnson led Dartmouth (9-17, 3-9) with 18 points, shooting 4 of 5 from the field and making all 10 free-throw attempts.
