UNION, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a birthday party staged at a northern New Jersey hall ended with a brawl that left four juveniles facing charges.

Union police say the fight broke out early Saturday at a Knights of Columbus building on Jeanette Avenue. They say many youths were involved, though it’s still not clear what sparked the melee.

Police say the youths fought inside and outside the building before responding officers were able to disperse the combatants.

The four juveniles arrested were charged with disorderly conduct and fighting.

The brawl remains under investigation. But it wasn’t clear Sunday if more arrests would be occurring.
