CHICAGO (AP) - The Illinois Department of Public Health is investigating after five residents of a Chicago nursing home fell ill and were taken to hospitals for treatment.

The incident happened Saturday afternoon at the Continental Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Chicago’s northwest side.

A spokesman for the nursing home said it wasn’t immediately clear what caused the residents to get sick, but they apparently all suffered from similar symptoms.

Continental Nursing, which has 172 residents, treats patients for a number of issues ranging from rehab and physical therapy to dialysis and hospice.
