DALLAS (AP) - A 24-year-old Dallas man faces a felony charge for allegedly causing injuries that led to the death of his girlfriend’s 2-year-old daughter.

Police say Emery Cobb III caused the injuries that led to the 2-year-old’s death.

The 2-year-old died Friday from a head injury caused by abuse, two days after she was taken to an area hospital. According to WFAA-TV, the girl’s mother told a neighbor Cobb injured her while giving her a bath.

Cobb is accused of felony injury to a child. Police did not immediately say whether that charge will be upgraded.

He’s being held in the Dallas County jail on $150,000 bond. His attorney, Roger Haynes, did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment Sunday.
