LISBON, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine say a Bowdoin man is in critical condition after a late night crash in Lisbon.

The Portland Press Herald reports (bit.ly/1QndyNGP) that 52-year-old Frederick Field was trapped in the car after the 11:30 p.m. crash on Saturday. He was airlifted to Central Maine Medical Center after being extricated from the car.

A passenger, 43-year-old Erica McIver, was able to crawl out of the car on her own. She had been wearing a seatbelt.

Authorities say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
