CANONSBURG, Pa. (AP) - State police say a trooper sustained a broken leg during an arrest at a western Pennsylvania casino.

Police in Washington County say a disturbance was reported on the casino floor at The Meadows Racetrack and Casino in North Strabane Township at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

Officials say Trooper James Amitrone of the Washington barracks was trying to arrest a suspect, but authorities allege that the man “resisted arrest and the trooper sustained a broken leg.”

Thirty-nine-year-old Shawn Lamonde of McDonald was charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, simple assault, resisting arrest and harassment.

Lamonde was held on $25,000 bail; court documents don’t list an attorney representing him and a message left at his residence wasn’t immediately returned.
