TOULOUSE, France (AP) - Toulouse coach Dominique Arribage has resigned after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at home to Rennes pushed the club closer to relegation.

Club president Olivier Sadran said on the club website that he had accepted Arribage’s resignation, but has yet to name a new coach.

Rennes scored twice in injury time to leave Toulouse languishing in 19th place, 10 points away from safety with just 10 games to go.

Toulouse has lost eight and drawn two of its past 10 games and Sadran said the situation had become “too difficult psychologically” for Arribage, who will remain part of the coaching staff in an unspecified role.
