BEEKMAN, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a house fire in the Hudson Valley over the weekend has left one man dead.

The Poughkeepsie Journal reports (https://pojonews.co/1QmCAQw ) the fire broke out Saturday night in Beekman.

Assistant Fire Chief Tom Kingsley says firefighters arrived to find a fully involved structure. He says one woman who was home at the time of the fire was able to make it out safely.

State police say the homeowner told her neighbor that her house was on fire and she couldn’t find her boyfriend when she went back to her house.

Authorities didn’t immediately identify the victim.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
