NEW YORK (AP) - The Long Island Rail Road’s on-time performance has gotten worse.
WCBS-TV reports (https://cbsloc.al/1QnHfhC ) that the LIRR has gotten worse at getting trains to stations on time for the fourth year in a row.
Long Island Assemblyman Todd Kaminsky says they’ve taken a “15-year step backwards.” He says he receives countless complaints from commuters who are stuck waiting for delayed or canceled trains.
LIRR says unexpected issues with East River tunnels and traffic accidents have disrupted service. The agency says it’s not happy with recent trends and is working to turn them around.
