SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A man who shot his former girlfriend and then himself outside an apartment in Sioux Falls had active warrants.

The Argus Leader reports (https://argusne.ws/1Sc7EU9 ) that 53-year-old Cameron Young had two warrants for violating a stalking protection order. It wasn’t clear if Young had an attorney.

The warrants were issued Thursday, the day before Young allegedly shot 30-year-old Kellie Dagel and then himself. Police said both suffered life-threatening injuries and remained hospitalized Monday.

Police said the pair had previously dated. Authorities are still investigating.
