COVINGTON, Ga. (AP) - Police are searching for thieves accused of breaking into a metro Atlanta gun store and stealing more than 30 firearms.

WSB-TV reports (2wsb.tv/1nd4FOw) the gun heist happened just before 3 a.m. Monday at a shop called Shots Fired in Covington, about 30 miles west of Atlanta.

Police say surveillance photos show four suspects, all wearing hoodies, smashing into a cabinet to grab the guns. They say among the stolen weapons were several AR-15 semi-automatic rifles.

Covington police detective Allan Seebaran says that “just having these illegal guns out on the streets is dangerous to anyone.”

Police had not announced any arrests as of Monday afternoon.
