FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a woman who was hit and killed by an SUV while walking along Interstate 25 in Larimer County.

The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports (https://goo.gl/vaQdwu ) 26-year-old Samantha Beter, of Longmont, was hit near Johnson’s Corner early Sunday morning as she was walking along the left fog line of the interstate. She died at the scene.

Investigators with the Colorado State Patrol say alcohol and excessive speed do not appear to have played a role in the accident. The driver of the SUV pulled over and called 911.
