HUGHESVILLE, Md. (AP) - Authorities in Maryland say a motorcyclist was killed in a crash along Route 5 in Hughesville and his death was not a homicide.

Maryland State Police say in a news release that troopers arrived at the scene of a motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon and a man was pronounced dead on the scene. Police have identified the man as 44-year-old Robert Anderson of Patuxent River.

Police say a forensic examiner called to the scene found possible evidence of a gunshot wound, but an autopsy determined that the wound was caused by a puncture during the crash. Police say the autopsy determined that Anderson died as a result of multiple blunt force trauma injuries in the crash. His death has been ruled accidental.
