ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Authorities have identified the man killed by an avalanche in southern Alaska near Nelchina Glacier.
KTUU-TV reports (https://bit.ly/24wrWwD ) that Alaska State Troopers say 50-year-old Randy Pratt, of Anchorage, died after being caught in an avalanche Saturday.
Troopers had responded after the avalanche to reports that two snowmachiners were missing.
They used a helicopter to reach the scene and recovered a man’s body.
The other snowmachiner was found and declined medical treatment.
