ATTLEBORO, Mass. (AP) - A 21-year-old Attleboro man has been convicted of shooting his neighbor in 2013 after the victim confronted him about his alleged drug dealing.

The Sun Chronicle (https://bit.ly/1R1TrZr ) reports that Richard Galiotte was found guilty Tuesday in Fall River Superior Court of assault and weapons charges stemming from the nonfatal shooting of 20-year-old Kevin Portillo in November 2013.

Prosecutors say Galiotte shot Portillo once in the abdomen in front of the victim’s mother.

Police arrested Galiotte after a seven-hour standoff at his home. He was taken into custody after a SWAT team entered the residence and found him hiding in the attic.

Galiotte is scheduled to be sentenced Friday.
