FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - More than 50 gravestones have been knocked over at a Jewish cemetery in Fort Wayne.

Cemetery officials found the gravestones turned over Monday and called police. The Fort Wayne Jewish Cemetery Association says several gravestones sustained severe damage. No graffiti or drawings were found.

Cemetery officials told police that the last time someone from the association visited the grounds was Jan. 7.

Association president Dan Zweig says nothing like this has happened at the cemetery before. The cemetery is surrounded by a high fence and has a locked gateway.

Fort Wayne police are investigating.
